Draft: not yet in force.
Lambtime ("the app", "we") is made by Kenisha Latiere Smith, Nevada, United States. Contact: lambtimefamily@gmail.com.
Lambtime is a Christian family app, with bedtime, Bible lessons and games, for families with children. We built it so that your family's information stays with you. This policy says what the app keeps on your phone, the little it sends when you choose family sharing, and how to delete it.
In short. No advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell or share your information. Almost everything stays on your phone. If you choose family sharing, we store only what is needed to deliver your family's recordings and pictures to each other, and you can delete it at any time.
What stays on your phone. Your child's first name or nickname, the routines and settings you choose, favorites, what was played recently, sound mixes and bedtime playlists, the prayer list, thank-you notes and journal entries, the photos you add for family members, any songs, prayers or story pages you record, your children's lessons and progress, their daily play time and the limits you set, morning-time records, and the family birthdays you add. The names typed into Family trivia are used only during the game and are not kept. All of this is kept only on your phone and is never sent to us. You can delete all of it: Parent area › Delete everything. Deleting the app also deletes it.
Microphone and camera. The app asks for the microphone only when a grown-up presses "Start recording", and for the camera or your photos only when a grown-up chooses to take or add a picture. Recording and taking pictures happen behind a question for grown-ups.
Family sharing (optional). If a parent creates a family account so family members can send each other recordings and pictures, we store, with Google Firebase (servers in the United States):
- each grown-up's account: email address and password (handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see the password) and the name the family knows them by (for example "Grandma");
- the family's name, who is in it and as what (parent or family), and single-use invitation codes;
- the recordings someone chooses to send to the family, with their title and words;
- the pictures someone chooses to post on the family board, with their caption and the family's hearts;
- for notifications: each phone's notification address and language.
We use these only to run family sharing for your family. Only members of your family can see what is sent to it; a parent decides which recordings reach the child; and a parent can remove any recording or picture. Board pictures are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Keeping children off the family board. Before a picture can be posted, the app checks it on the phone for faces (using Google's ML Kit, which runs on the phone: the picture is not sent anywhere to be checked). Pictures of things you spot or moments of your day with a face in them are not posted, and a grown-up confirms there are no children in every picture. Please do not post pictures of children.
Notifications. The bedtime reminder and the daily "little sign" are set on your phone; nothing is sent to us. With family sharing, when someone sends a recording or posts a picture, our server sends a notification to your family's phones through Expo's notification service. The notification contains the sender's family name and a short line (for example "New prayer from Grandpa"), never anything about your child.
Read aloud. When the app reads something aloud with the phone's own voice ("Our day", Family trivia questions and the closing prayer), it uses your phone's built-in text-to-speech. We don't receive what is read.
Backups you make. Parent area › Backup and restore makes a file of your family's settings and progress, and you choose where to save it (for example your own cloud drive or email). We never receive it. Restoring reads it back on the phone.
Crash reports. If something goes wrong, the next time the app opens it may ask whether to send us a short report. It is sent only if you choose to: it opens an email you can read in full before sending, with the app version, the phone's system and what went wrong, and no names or information about your family. We use it only to fix the problem.
Sharing outside the app. When you send a note, a verse picture or a picture through your phone's share menu, it goes only where you send it. We don't keep it.
Voices and music. The narration, prayers and music in Lambtime were made in advance, some with AI voice and music tools, and are stored inside the app. Nothing about you or your child is sent to any AI service. Your child's name in the prayer and the stories is played from clips already inside the app.
Purchases. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google; we do not see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether Premium is active; it receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history, not your name or your child's information. If you start a free trial, a reminder before it ends is set on your phone.
On our website. The website has no ads, no analytics and no cookies. If you sign up there (for the family beta, the free printable or news about Lambtime), we keep the email address you give, and anything else you choose to fill in, only to write to you about Lambtime. Our website host, Netlify, stores the sign-ups for us. We never sell or share them, and you can ask us to remove you at any time by writing to lambtimefamily@gmail.com. Please don't put anything about your child in the form.
Children. Lambtime is used by parents and caregivers with their children. Children do not have accounts; family accounts are for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think we have, write to us and we will delete it.
How long we keep it, and deleting it. Information on your phone stays until you delete it. With family sharing, an account and what it sent stay until they are deleted: in the app (Family sharing › Delete my account), or by writing to us. Deleting a family's only parent account deletes the family and everything sent to it. Family board pictures are deleted after 30 days.
Your rights. Wherever you live, you can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or ask us questions about it, by writing to lambtimefamily@gmail.com. We will answer within 30 days.
Security. Information is sent over encrypted connections, and the family cloud's rules let only your family's members see what is sent to it.
Changes. If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date below, and say so in the app when the change matters to you.
